Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum cements his place in team history on Christmas Day

The Boston Celtics destroyed the Milwaukee Bucks 139-118, giving the Celtics fans the best Christmas gift of all, as there’s nothing better sending the Bucks home with a loss.

Jayson Tatum planted his flag in Celtics history with a 41-point performance, scoring the second most points in team history.

There are only two other players to score over 40-points on the holiday game for the Celtics:

  • Tommy Heinsohn, 45-points (1961)
  • Jayson Tatum, 41-points (2022)
  • Kyrie Irving, 40-points (2018)

Tatum has played on Christmas Day six times in his career, this, however, is the first time he’s scored over 40-points. In fact, it’s the first times he’s scored over 30-points.
