Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

The Celtics need to win it for Heather

The Boston Celtics lost an essential member of their organizational family this week with the passing of Heather Walker.

Walker was hired by the Celtics in 2006 and wore just about every hat there is within the Celtics organization over the course of her 17 years with the team.

She really did it all. From brand partnerships, taking care of players’ families during games, community events, and was the current vice president of public relations.

Walker was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer, in 2021. She worked with the Jimmy Fund to create her Move 4 Heather Challenge and with Dana-Farber for the Heather Walker Glioblastoma Fund.

She was 52-years-old and meant everything to this Celtics team.

From what I remember of Heather, she lit up a room and was already around and involved in the team. When the Celtics won in ‘08, she was on the court. Do not be surprised if we see a patch in the rafters that reads “Heather” some day soon.

She was that important to the organization.
