Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Jaylen Brown honors his grandmother with custom shoes in Game 3

Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown wore a pair of custom shoes honoring his grandmother Dianne Varnado who passed away in March. Varnado was a public school teacher and social worker, a person Brown learned how to argue, fight, and make a stand for what he believes in.

Varnado made a strong impact on Brown’s life, as she did to many people in her community. To pay a tribute to her in his own way, Brown customized a pair of shoes in her honor, featuring her name, face and roses throughout.

While wearing these in Game 3, Brown scored 23 points on 57 percent shooting from the floor. We’ll see if he gives these shoes another run in Game 4 this afternoon.
