The Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 95-86 in Game 6 on the road in Philly on Thursday evening to force a Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Sunday in Boston.
Marcus Smart led the way for Boston on both ends of the court, finishing Game 6 scoring 22 points 8-of-15 shooting and also added seven rebounds and seven assists in this game.
Smart’s energy and physicality set him apart from everyone on the court and it showed for the entirety of the night. The way he corralled and stole the ball from Joel Embiid to create a take foul and eventual Embiid technical.
Here’s what Malcolm Brogdon said about Smart leading the way for the Celtics in Game 6.
“He’s a vet guy, a fringe All-Star in this league. He’s been leading this team for years, led them to the Finals last year. So he’s ready for these situations. He made big shots tonight. He’s the point guard we need.”
Is there anything better than a Game 7 in Boston at the TD Garden?
