Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has shown to be fiery with the media and fully support his coaching philosophies throughout the course of his first season as head coach; a season in which he was appointed the position he’s in at the very last minute.
We’ve heard from the team countless times in the regular season that Mazzulla has edge to him. Well, he put it all on display in Game 7 when he charged to center court to inform Scott Foster and his crew that they’ve missed three calls so far through the second quarter.
Marcus Smart patted Mazzulla on the chest, as if to say “let it go.”. But Mazzulla didn’t let it go. In fact, he conversed strongly with referee Bill Kennedy about his frustrations, telling them all to do a better job. Mazzulla’s efforts alone brought the TD Garden to their feet and it was a momentum-shifting moment in Game 7.
It’s worth mentioning that two hours before tipoff, Adrian Wojnarowski dropped one of the most pointless “Woj Bomb” Tweets that revealed a 13-4 officiating disparity in favor of Boston. However, Woj did his job, and turned Game 7 into a potential officiating circus act.
