Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Jaylen Brown breaks down what went wrong in second half of Game 1 for Celtics

The Celtics saw 55-points combined between Jayson Tatum (30pts) and Jaylen Brown (22pts) but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Heat in Game 1.

The game was relatively even during the first half, as Boston took an 11-point lead heading into halftime. The Celtics controlled the court in the first half; scoring 24 more points in the paint, nine more second chance points, and six more fast break points.

However, the Celtics fell apart at halftime and allowed the Heat to score 46-points in the third quarter alone. The Celtics scored 25-points in the third quarter, making the 21 points too large of a variance to overcome.

Here’s what Brown had to say after the game about how the Celtics allowed themselves to fall apart in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Game 2 is on Friday at the TD Garden.
