For years, Rob Williams has been the ultimate game changer for the Celtics. His abilities on the court are unmatched when he’s healthy, making him one of the most impactful players on both ends of the court in the NBA.
Rob did everything he could to be available for his team in the NBA Finals last year, which led to an additional knee surgery in the offseason and a delay to the start of the regular season this year.
It took a while for Rob to be reintegrated back into Boston’s rotation. At one point he came off the bench before he eventually reclaimed his starting position.
Head coach Joe Mazzulla has played around with his starting lineups and rotations, which has steered away from the double-big lineups at different points in the season and now we’re seeing it in the playoffs.
Rob is going to continue giving it everything he has for the Celtics as they prepare for Game 3 in Miami down 0-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Rob played well in Game 2 and he’ll need to continue doing so in Game 3 to give the Celtics any sort of hope of making it back to the Finals.
The series transitions to Miami, as Boston is down 0-2. Game 3 is tonight at 8:30 PM.
Rob is averaging 7.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.1 assists per game in the playoffs this season. He’s leading the playoffs with an 83.1 field goal percentage.
