Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Grant Williams lifts Celtics to first win in ECF

Grant Williams lifted the Celtics to their first win of the Eastern Conference Finals in Game 4.

After receiving a DNPCD in Game 1 and poking the bear in Game 2, Grant’s efforts propelled Boston to a win in Game 4. He logged 14-points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range and corralled six rebounds, two assists, and had a redemption style block on Jimmy Butler late in the game.

Grant doesn’t get enough credit for being the well rounded player that he is. He’s able to shoot and score on one end while defending the team’s best player or actively playing help-defense on the other, Grant has a never-ending and relentless motor.

I’ve been a supporter of Grant since he arrived in Boston his rookie year as a two-time SEC Player of the Year. He’s only improved every season over the past four years and continues to prove his value to the Celtics each year.

This performance must’ve felt good for Grant, who has definitely felt the negative criticisms towards him during this entire playoff run.

This performance must also prove to head coach Joe Mazzulla that good things happen when Grant is on the court and involved in the game.

It’s worth mentioning that Grant has played at least 26 minutes per game after not playing in Game 1; Game 2- 26 minutes, Game 3- 29 minutes, Game 4- 29 minutes.

Game 5 is set for Thursday night in Boston.
