You’ll never forget where you were when you saw Boston Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum dunk over LeBron James in the Eastern Conference Finals.
It was May 27, 2018. There was 6:45 left on the clock in the fourth quarter with the Cleveland Cavaliers holding a four-point lead.
Tatum received a pass at the top of the key from Marcus Smart as he just drove through the Cleveland defense and met LeBron James in the paint… but it didn’t matter.
Tatum, with a full head of steam, elevated as strongly as he could to throw down a monster one-handed jam over LeBron, which brought every single person in the TD Garden to their feet.
This dunk was in front of Celtics legend Paul Pierce and Patriots owner Robert Kraft. This is a moment that will never be forgotten and one that changed the course of Tatum’s career.
Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals is tonight in Miami.
