Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Kendrick Perkins is indifferent on picking Celtics to win Game 7

The Boston Celtics have done the near-impossible in this Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat, as they’re in a position to become the first team to overcome a 3-0 series deficit.

The Celtics lost the first two games of the ECF in shocking fashion at the TD Garden, followed by another loss in Game 3 in Miami.

However, the Celtics took the series back with a Game 4 win in Miami and have gone on to win the following two games, tying the series at three games a piece with Game 7 being in Boston.

Former Celtics champion and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins wants to believe the Celtics will win this game and advance back to the Finals, but he’s indifferent about his decision.

“This will be a dogfight. If anybody thinks this is going to be a blowout or a smackdown or a spanking, it’s not going to be either one of those. The Miami Heat are gonna come in here and compete. This is the same situation, just a different court, from last year. Jimmy Butler’s going to be more aggressive, but I do think the Celtics will pull this one out tonight. I’m not comfortable saying that and they have given me reasons why, but I believe they will pull it out.”

Perkins is right about this game not being a walk in the park. He suggests that Jimmy Butler is going to be more aggressive, which will be problematic for Boston.

Although Perkins has a fair take, it’s wild to assume that Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum aren’t going to be just as aggressive or even more so than Butler.

Game 7 is tonight in Boston set to tipoff at 8:30 PM.
