Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Grant Williams has drawn interest from the Dallas Mavericks

Boston Celtics restricted free agent two-way 3-and-D player Grant Williams will have many offer sheets coming his way as an unrestricted free agent.

The Pacers and Magic have already been two teams rumored to be in the market for Grant’s services, while The Ringer’s Kevin O’ Connor suggests a potential sign-and-trade deal for Grant.

However, another team is in the mix for the Celtics’ versatile player, as HoopsHype Michael Scotto reports the Mavericks are interested in acquiring Grant and that he and Luka Doncic are represented by WME Sports.

There’s a path that could see Dallas building a three-man unit around Luka by adding Grant Williams and retaining Kyrie Irving.

The Mavericks will have upwards of $20 million in cap space when free agency begins as the current roster is constructed.

Depending what Dallas offers, it could be too much for the Celtics to match.
