The Boston Celtics have headlined the NBA since their season ended in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals and it’s been mostly featured by Brad Stevens.
Stevens retooled Boston’s coaching staff by the hirings of Sam Cassell and Charles Lee to better supplement head coach Joe Mazzulla in his second year.
Stevens also traded away Marcus Smart while acquiring Kristaps Porzingis and pulled off his best Bill Belichick impersonation by obtaining a first round pick (No. 25) and then turning it into one player (Jordan Walsh, No. 38) and four future second round draft picks.
We’ll get to look at the Celtics sooner than later with the Summer League starting in only two weeks in Las Vegas.
The Celtics Summer League team should feature rookie second round draft pick Jordan Walsh, second-year guard JD Davison, Justin Champagnie, and newly acquired journeyman Mychal Mulder, to name a few.
Boston’s draft-and-stash players Juhann Begarin and Yam Madar are not expected to join the Celtics this summer due to new contracts and roles with their current international teams.
