The Boston Celtics have lost four assistant coaches this summer as Boston continues to retool their staff for second-year head coach Joe Mazzulla.

Aaron Miles is leaving Boston to join the New Orleans Pelicans for a similar role under head coach Willie Green.

Miles became an assistant for Golden State in 2019 on the same staff with Willie Green for head coach Steve Kerr.

In 2021, the Celtics hired Miles as an assistant after spending two years as a head coach for Golden States’s GLeague team and serving as a developmental coach for the Warriors.

Miles had coaching experience prior to coming to Boston and it’s some what surprising to see him go.

Boston has since hired Jayson Tatum’s close friend and former Duke teammate Amile Jefferson as an assistant coach this season.
