Danilo Gallinari had a dream come true when the Boston Celtics signed him in free agency last summer, as the Celtics are a team that he followed growing up as a child.
Gallinari unfortunately tore his ACL in Italy while playing in a FIBA World Cup qualifier, which forced him to miss the entire 2022-23 season, his one and only season in Boston.
He thanked the Celtics organization for the time and effort they put in to the rehab for him to get back on the court sooner than later.
Gallinari was traded to the Washington Wizards in a three-team deal that sent Marcus Smart to Memphis.
