Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Rob Williams hosts youth basketball camp

Boston Celtics game-changing big man Robert Williams III held a youth basketball camp in his hometown area of Shreveport, Louisiana on Monday afternoon.

Williams hosted the skills-and-drills event at Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation for grades K-8. The camp was free and provided lunch, all that was required was a pre-registration to join Rob for the day.

Although a storm rolled through Shreveport, Williams still saw a great turnout at his event, as he’s thankful for the opportunity.

“It’s honestly surreal to see all the kids, to see the turnout, the parents bring their kids out. You know, it was storming today and people still got outside. But um, yeah, it’s something you never get used to. Man, just thankful to have these kids here doing something positive. It’s the biggest thing,”

Williams was born in Shreveport, graduated high school from North Caddo in Vivian. This is a way for Rob to give back to the community that he grew up in and give the local kids a positive outlet.
