Kevin Garnett talks about ‘most unprofessional’ moment of career is with Snoop Dogg

On January 12, 2003, Kevin Garnett and a group of his Minnesota Timberwolves teammates traveled to Toronto for a game against the Raptors but decided to take in the Snoop Dogg concert Saturday night before the Sunday matchup.

After the show, Garnett and his teammates had the privilege to hangout with Snoop Dogg, pulling an all-nighter with one of rap’s biggest stars, despite there being a game to play some hours later that they should have been preparing for.

Garnett and Snoop re-lived this night on an episode of KG Certified on SHOWTIME Basketball:

“It’s probably one of the most unprofessional shits I’ve ever done. We get to mother fucking Toronto ‘Yo Snoop in town! Snoop playing tonight! Oh hell no, we got to get some tickets so we can go to the show. The show was banging, Snoop killed that shit. I think we hung out till like…’”

That’s when Snopp Dogg jumped in the conversation while laughing along with Garnett reminiscing about their wild night:

“The sun came up! I looked out my window and I said ‘these [blank] are still here and the sun is rising.”

“Listen. We played the Toronto Raptors at noon. At halftime, I’m leading the league in rebounds, I have no rebounds. Flip says ‘God damn you guys, Toronto fans get to see you once and you God damn come here playing like shit. You mother fuckers hanging out with Snoop, you fucking got Snooped.”

The Timberwolves went on to lose 105-91 while Garnett finished with only three rebounds in the game. Garnett also didn’t win the rebounding title in ‘03, finishing second to Ben Wallace.

KG went on to win the rebounding title four times from 2004-2007 prior to joining the Celtics.
