Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Enes Freedom blasts Kyrie Irving for being a hypocrite

Enes Freedom hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2021-22 season with the Boston Celtics. He believes he’s being blackballed by the league for his political stances, issues with China, and the Turkey government in his home country.

To be honest, most of the issues Freedom has with Irving aren’t genuine as he hitched his wagon to Celtics Nation in their disgust for Irving when Freedom first arrived in 2019-20 after Irving pulled off the great escape after committing to returning to Boston in front of the season ticket holders.

Freedom came into Boston on his high horse and even selected to wear No. 11 after Irving just wore it for the two seasons prior. But it’s fair to say that Freedom looks at Irving and the NBA as contradicting and flip-flopping hypocrites.

Here’s what Freedom said about Irving:

“This guy literally didn’t take the vaccine. Even if I lose what? Hundreds of millions of dollars. That’s courageous. Then you sign a shoe deal with Anta. Everybody knows about the slave labor and sweatshops. You’re signing a deal with the biggest dictatorship in the world.”

Freedom’s days in the NBA are likely over due to him being washed and outdated as a player in today’s NBA and not at all the political mumbo-jumbo that Freedom thinks. I will say that he’s not wrong in the sense that the NBA and Irving are hypocrites with some of their decisions over the last few years.
