The Boston Celtics had a few of their players on FIBA World Cup rosters with the expectations of playing this summer.
Al Horford was listed on the Dominican Team, Oshae Brissett on Canada, and Kristaps Porzingis on Latvia.
It was announced that Horford wouldn’t be competing in the World Cup but Brissett and Porzingis did report to practice with the full expectations of playing this summer.
Brissett withdrew himself from Team Canada due to an apparent knee injury to rehab and better focus on the season ahead with Boston.
Now it’s being reported that Porzingis is dealing with a foot injury and is still debating whether or not to continue on with Latvia in the World Cup.
This obviously hits most of Celtics fans hard as the team just dealt with a similar situation last summer from Danilo Gallinari when he played for Italy in the Word Cups and returned to Boston with a torn ACL.
