Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Sam Hauser is a weapon for the Celtics

Boston Celtics backup forward sharpshooting specialist Sam Hauser has found his rhythm in the month of November after a slow start to the season.

In November, Hauser has connected on 21-of-38 3-point attempts, including shooting 9-of-16 in back-to-back games this past weekend.

Hauser is averaging 12.2 points per game on 55.3 percent shooting from behind the arc. He was asked about his recent shooting, to which he said “it’s my job” after Saturday’s game against Toronto.

“It’s kind of my job. It’s nothing crazy. Obviously it’s nice to see more go through than miss, so I’m really happy with that. But yeah, it’s my job, so I always have to be ready to make some shots.”

Hauser claims to be the best shooter on the Celtics and his 42.4 career 3-point percentage might prove that. Despite that, Hauser has been a streaky shooter at times but I think it’s fair to say that he’s finally found his rhythm.

One of the things I picked up on in the last few games from Hauser is that his muscle memory gets stronger within every game. There was a play on Saturday where Hauser shot-faked and relocated with barely taking his eyes off of the basket, ending with him draining a 3-pointer.

Hauser solidified himself in Boston’s rotation, averaging a career-high 19.3 minutes per game so far this season. His shooting and scoring off the bench is invaluable for the Celtics.
