Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Celtics frontcourt is thin with Porzingis and Kornet in question

The Boston Celtics have surprisingly had one of the best center rotations and big man depth to follow in the league in Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, Luke Kornet, and Neemias Queta.

Although Boston’s had great depth all season, the frontcourt is running thin after losing both Porzingis and Kornet this weekend.

Porzingis left Thursday’s game in Miami during the third quarter with an ankle injury and Kornet left Saturday’s game in the third quarter against the Clippers with a hamstring injury.

The depth is going to be put to the test as there is no real reason to rush either Porzingis or Kornet back considering Boston’s positioning more than halfway through the season.

Boston will have Al Horford and two-way big man Neemias Queta, who’s been with the team more often than not this season, and should likely be converted to an NBA contract soon.

Head coach Joe Mazzulla doesn’t anticipate Porzingis to be miss too much time, as he said during his pregame press conference. It’s still uncertain how much time Kornet will miss.

Both Porzingis and Kornet are in question for Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans and Tuesday against the Pacers.

Horford is in question for Monday with a left neck sprain.
