Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown is no stranger of the hammer throughout his career, as he’s put many players on posters around the NBA.
Brown is the first All-Star to participate in the Dunk Contest since 2018 and he’s the fifth Celtic in franchise history to represent the team in the event.
Now in his eighth season, Brown feels he’s in his “athletic prime” and it’s the right time to do the Dunk Contest, which is something he said he’s always wanted to do.
“I feel like I’m in my athletic prime. When it comes to dunks, it’s an art form. I loved growing up and watching it. I think I’m one of the best to do it in terms of dunking on somebody in the game. So I think this is part of the journey, it’s part of my legacy. At one point in my career I thought I wanted to do it and I think now is a good time.”
Brown has 58 dunks on the season. He told the media during a postgame press conference that he has about “six dunks in the chamber” and might use teammate Jayson Tatum during a dunk.
We’ve seen Gerald Green and Dee Brown with some memorable performances at the Dunk Contest, let’s see what Brown can do.
