Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Jaylen Brown led Celtics to blowout victory in New York

Jaylen Brown is usually the one who opens the game offensively for the Boston Celtics in the first quarter. He leads the team in first quarter points with 7.1 points on 54.7% shooting from the field.

Saturday night at Madison Square Garden was no different for the Celtics. Brown scored the first basket of the game, a 26-foot stepback 3-pointer, and then made his next shot, another stepback 3-pointer from 25-feet out.

Brown finished the first quarter with 10-points on 4-of-5 shooting in just under 10-minutes to start the game. He scored another 10-points on 5-of-7 shooting in the second quarter, adding in three rebounds and two assists as well.

In the third and fourth quarter, Brown logged another 10-points on 4-of-12 shooting to finish the game. He scored a team-high 30-points on 13-of-24 shooting and he also had a team-high eight rebounds.

One of the best plays of the night was an assist from Brown to Kristaps Porzingis around four Knicks players in the paint. It was an easy lay-in for Porzingis and Brown celebrated with a goggles or glasses gesture over his eyes.

The Celtics are a well connected team. It can be a different player in every game that goes off for Boston. Tonight was Brown’s night.

Boston has won eight-consecutive games, the longest winning streak of their season.
