Boston Celtics backup guard Payton Pritchard unlocked a new level of production this season and we’re seeing it on display over the last five games.
Pritchard has always been known for being a sharpshooter during his four-years in Boston, averaging 39.7 percent shooting from behind the arc for his career.
But it’s been his facilitating at a master level over the last five games that’s really propelling this team to possible higher heights.
In the last five games, Pritchard has totaled 40 assists and only five turnovers while scoring 91-points in this span. He has complete control of the game when he’s on the court and his play shows that.
Pritchard is just giving the game exactly what it needs. With Jrue Holiday missing his fourth straight game, Boston needs some facilitation on the court and Pritchard provides that.
He’s been a plus-minus of +69 over the last five games, which is the highest on the team.
Pritchard is averaging 18.2 points on 50 percent shooting, eight assists, 3.6 assists over the last five games.
It’s fair to say that Pritchard has a firm grasp of this team. He understands how it works and what he needs to do to accentuate the players around him.
