Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is the best player on the best team in the NBA. He’s a five-time All-Star, which he’s been named a starter in two consecutive years, and is always finishing amongst the top in MVP voting in the NBA.
Tatum is averaging 27.1 points on 47.3 percent shooting from the floor, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game this season while leading the way for the Celtics. However, Colin Cowherd is unable to see the greatness that Tatum is and that he has been over the course of his career.
Cowherd specifically said he was going to see this game in Chicago on Saturday to evaluate the late game execution from Tatum, who he believes is unable to provide for his team in critical moments.
Tatum finished the game with 26-points on 8-of-20 shooting, two rebounds, and six assists in Chicago. Cowherd saw what he wanted to see, or didn’t want to see, which was for Tatum to perform late in the game when it mattered most.
In the final three-minutes of the game, Tatum scored on a finger-roll layup and then made four free-throws to end the game. The clutch numbers should be skewed for the Celtics due to not being in too many clutch situations.
Cowherd is a known Tatum-hater and there’s really no reason as to why. He’s one of the few superstars in this league that have zero issues off the court and plays the game the right way while leading his team since he stepped foot in Boston.
Tatum will once again finish in the top in MVP voting this season. His team has the best record in the league and they’re favorites to go to the NBA Finals.
I wonder what Cowherd will have to say this week about Tatum.
