Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Kristaps Porzingis shines in first playoff game for Celtics

Kristaps Porzingis hasn’t played in the playoffs since 2021 with the Dallas Mavericks. He knew when he was traded to the Boston Celtics that he would get back into the playoffs and show the world what he’s able to do.

In the first quarter, Porzingis hit two quick turnaround jumpers and a 3-pointer, scoring seven-points early on. He was ready for the moment and it looked to be just another day at the office for him.

Porzingis finished the game with 18-points on 7-of-13 shooting with four made 3’s and four rebounds and an assist in 34 minutes, tied for the second most on the team behind Jayson Tatum.

The Celtics have played the Heat many times in the playoffs. In fact, this is the third straight year these teams square off in the postseason, but it’s the first with a legitimate floor spacer like Porzingis.

After the game, Porzingis was asked about the matchup he has against Bam Adebayo and if he takes it personally, which he said he does not.

There was a play before halftime that was a bit concerning. Porzingis was shooting a 3-pointer and Nikola Jovic slapped hands in an attempt to block it. Porzingis walked away shaking his hand, but it didn’t seem to bother him moving forward with the rest of the game.

Porzingis has been a gamechanger all season for the Celtics and it’s showing in the playoffs.
