Ex-Celtic Glen Davis sentenced to prison for NBA fraud scheme

Former Boston Celtics player and 2008 NBA champion Glen Davis was sentenced to 40-months in prison for his role in defrauding the league’s health care benefit plans.

Allegedly, Davis and many other players, filed false medical claims with the NBA Players’ Health and Benefit Welfare Plan.

Davis’ sentencing includes 40-months in prison and three years of supervised release that’ll include a financial management class and mandatory drug treatment.

Davis played for seven seasons with the first four years of his career in Boston, winning the championship in 2008.
