Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Rajon Rondo in attendance for Celtics-Pacers Game 3 in Indiana with his son

The Boston Celtics took care of business in the Eastern Conference Finals, sweeping away the Indiana Pacers, as Boston prepares for their second NBA Finals in three years.

There was a former player in attendance for Game 3 in Indiana, former Celtics point guard and champion Rajon Rondo took in the game with his son, Rajon Rondo Jr., who is now 12-years-old, 6-foot-1, and has a strong drive for the game like his father.

Rondo is coaching his son on the court, but for Game 3, Rondo was coaching his son from the suite above the Celtics media section, which he drove two-hours for, so that he could show his son a high-level playoff game and to show him what “greatness looks like” as he caught up with Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe.

“It’s a two-hour drive, and I wanted my son to see what greatness looks like up close. Being on the road up 2-0, but still coming into a tough environment, handling adversity. It’s the game-winning plays. We both talked about how Jrue got that defensive stop. That’s what separates Jrue Holiday from a lot of different players he plays against every night.”

The Celtics won this game by three-points on a steal by Jrue Holiday in the final four seconds of the game that sealed the victory for Boston, and also became a learning experience for Rondo to teach his son.

Rondo spent some time during the early part of the season with the current team, appearing at practices and making his presence felt with Paul Pierce.

The Celtics are in great position to finally raise Banner 18- the last time they won a championship, Rondo was leading the way for them.
