Jrue Holiday has been tasked with being the defensive play-caller this season for the Celtics in his first year with the team, which was the first time he’s been required to do so as a five-time NBA All-Defense in his 15-year career.
In doing so, Holiday has given much praise to the way Boston runs their defense, which is a testament to his teammates doing a great job on that end and to the coaches for being creative and versatile.
Holiday praised his teammates in April to the with how everybody on the team defends at a high level. He was surprised to learn that even the white guys on the team like Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser, and Luke Kornet play defense well.
In Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night in Boston, Holiday once again gave his team a compliment for their defense, even the white guys.
Game 2 of the NBA Finals tips off from Boston on Sunday at 8:30 PM.
