Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics 2024-25 season transactions

Although the Boston Celtics are currently up for sale, GM Brad Stevens is running business as usual and locking up his team for the next few years.

Since winning the NBA Finals, Stevens is committed to running it back with the same team, bringing back 13 of 15 players from last year’s championship run.

The Celtics are navigating the offseason as a team above the second apron that comes with limitations to roster building and the ability to sign players in free agency.

Here are all the transactions the Celtics have made this offseason, in order:

  • Drafted Baylor Scheierman 30th overall in 2024 NBA Draft. He’s the first first-round pick for Brad Stevens.
  • Drafted Anton Watson 54th overall.
  • Picked up team-option on Sam Hauser ($2.09 million)
  • Declined team-option on Neemias Queta ($2.20 million)
  • Re-signed Luke Kornet (1-year, $2.8 million)
  • Re-signed Xavier Tillman (2-year, $4.78 million)
  • Re-signed Drew Peterson (two-way)
  • Re-signed Neemias Queta (3-year, $7.18 million)
  • Re-signed Derrick White (4-year, $118 million)
  • Re-signed Jayson Tatum (5-year, $314 million)
  • Signed Baylor Scheierman (4-year, $12.81 million)
  • Re-signed JD Davison (two-way)
  • Signed Tristan Enaruna (Exhibit-10)
  • Signed Ron Harper Jr. (Exhibit-10)
  • Re-signed Sam Hauser (4-year, $45 million)

Stevens also restructured Kristaps Porzingis’ contract when he arrived to Boston, agreeing to two-years, $60 million. Payton Pritchard to four-years, $30 million. Jrue Holiday to four-years, $135 million.

The Celtics will have a short window with this championship team due to financial reasons, as Stevens is trying to maximize the time with this team the best he can.
