Celtics superstars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum will start the season with a similar motivation that’s fueled by Team USA. Brown, who was snubbed from the roster, and Tatum, who was utilized as the 11th man, are going to showcase why it was a mistake to treat them the way they did.
For Brown, there’s more politics involved with Nike and his stance on the shoe company. Over the years, Brown has covered the Nike logo if he wears a pair for a game. He’s also publicly called out the company for their lack of ethics according to Brown.
For Tatum, his situation is a little simpler than Brown’s feud with Nike, but a feud with head coach Steve Kerr for utilizing him as the 11th man on the roster. This decision didn’t make much sense to anyone in the NBA community, including Draymond Green who spoke about it on his podcast.
Together, Brown and Tatum enter the season as defending champions with more fuel added to their fire than ever before. The Celtics host the Golden State Warriors Nov. 6 and it’s safe to say that this game is circled on both of their calendars, as it is for many Celtics fans.
