The NBA saw success in the inaugural In-Season Tournament that it’s coming back for a second season, this time it’s being called the Emirates NBA Cup.
In a similar format to last year, all of the teams have been assigned to a five-team group, with games being played on Tuesdays and Fridays in November and December.
Each team will play the other four teams in its group once with two games being at home and two games being away. The NBA is calling the games “Cup Nights” during the tournament.
The Boston Celtics landed in the Eastern Conference’s Group C, including the Cavaliers, Bulls, Hawks, and Wizards. The schedule for Group C NBA Cup play is below:
- vs. Atlanta Hawks, Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET
- vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m. ET
- At Washington Wizards, Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:00 p.m. ET
- At Chicago Bulls, Friday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m. ET
The Celtics went 3-2 and were eliminated in the knockout round by the Pacers last year in the tournament.
Ironically enough, the Celtics and Pacers met in the Eastern Conference Finals and provided another electrifying series.
The NBA tried to do something fun built within the season and it was a success. Between the style of the jerseys and the court designs, it’s a fun twist to have in the season.
