Mazzulla acknowledges Pritchard’s ascension this season, praising him for expanding on his role on a team that brought back the same team from last year. He went on to say that Pritchard is one of the best three-level scorers he’s ever seen for a guy his size.

Mazzulla explains that he likes the point differential system and drawing up a final play to add more points during the NBA Cup.

“I like it, because, this tournament and the point differential kind of eliminates all of the unwritten rules that you’re supposed to follow or not follow. … we tried to extend the point differential as much as we could.”

Mazzulla was also asked if he thinks his team enjoys the point differential system.

“It’s different. I think they enjoy it. It adds a little life to the game in the regular season… I know Sam likes anytime he can get a shot up.”

Mazzulla said he doesn’t have much of an update on Derrick White, who left the game in the third quarter with a foot sprain. He said that he saw him in the back and gave him a high-five. White told Mazzulla he’d be fine.
