The Boston Celtics are in the middle of their second four-game road trip of the month out west. They’re already off to a good start after blowing out Golden State, 125-88, on Monday afternoon.
Next on the road trip is a back-to-back against both Los Angeles teams and then to Dallas on Friday.
The last time Boston had a road trip in the Western Conference, they went 3-1 against Minnesota, Houston, OKC, and Denver.
Here’s a look at the injury reports for both teams:
Boston Celtics
- Al Horford is listed as out with a left big toe sprain.
- Kristaps Porzingis is out with a non Covid illness.
- Jrue Holiday is listed as out with a right shoulder impingement.
It’s not surprising to see Horford on the injury report on the first night of a back-to-back and the same can be said about Holiday at this point in his career.
Usually, Boston will stagger rest days on back-to-back games between Horford and Kristaps Porzingis. So if Horford is out tonight against the Clippers, it’s expected that he’ll be out on Thursday against the Lakers.
It’s worth mentioning that last week when the Celtics played the Orlando Magic, Horford and Porzingis both played in the game and then sat out the next night for the backend of a back-to-back against the Hawks.
With a healthy Lakers team on the schedule for Thursday, it’ll be interesting to see what Joe Mazzulla does with his team.
Los Angeles Clippers
- Nicolas Batum is questionable with a finger injury.
- Kris Dunn is questionable with left knee soreness.
- Norman Powell is questionable with back soreness.
- James Harden is questionable with a groin injury.
- Ivica Zubac is out with an eye injury.
- Kawhi Leonard is out with a knee injury.
Tipoff from the new Intuit Dome is at 10:30 PM tonight.
