Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics host new and improved Dallas Mavericks, injury report & notes

The Boston Celtics host the new and improved Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, only a few days after the blockbuster trade of Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis between the Mavericks and the Lakers.

This is the second matchup between Boston and Dallas in less than two weeks, with the last meeting on Jan. 25 that saw the Celtics win by 15-points on the backs of three starters scoring at least 22-points: Tatum (24), White (23), Brown (22).

The Mavericks are rebuilding within this trade deadline. Along with Davis, they’ve also traded for Max Christie, and Caleb Martin, as they try to attempt a mid-season turnaround built with Kyrie Irving and Davis.

Although they’ve been extremely active at the deadline, Dallas might still not have enough to takedown Boston, especially with a lengthy injury report entering Thursday’s game.

It’s worth mentioning that Davis, managing an abdominal injury, hasn’t made his debut for Dallas yet, but it won’t be tonight in Boston, it will be on Saturday in Dallas against Houston.

Here’s a look at the injury report for both teams ahead of tonight’s game:

Boston Celtics

  • Jrue Holiday is listed as questionable with a right shoulder impingement.

Dallas Mavericks

  • Anthony Davis is out with an abdominal strain.
  • Dereck Lively is out with a right ankle stress fracture.
  • Caleb Martin is out (trade pending).
  • P.J. Washington is out for personal reasons.
  • Dwight Powell is out with a hip injury.

Tipoff is at 7:30 PM from the TD Garden.
