Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Warriors Sign Another Former Celtics Player

The Boston Celtics parted ways with Charles Bassey on Friday after he completed two 10-Day contracts, but he was quickly picked up by the Golden State Warriors to replace Omer Yursteven and fill the team’s final roster spot, per HoopsHype’s Michael Soto.

Bassey just completed his second 10-Day contract with Boston. He played five games, averaging 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. He’s played for three teams this season, averaging 2.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game for the season.

It’s expected that Golden State will sign Bassey to a 10-Day contract to finish out the remaining five games of the regular season. The Warriors are essentially doing the same thing with Yurtseven that the Celtics did with Bassey in that they let them walk since they can’t sign them to a third 10-Day contract with the same team.

Bassey had a great start to the season in G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors and Delaware Blue Coats, averaging 20.4 points and 12.2 rebounds in 20-games.

He’ll join Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis as former Celtics centers now on the Warriors.
