The Boston Celtics drafted Payton Pritchard in the bottom half of the first round in the 2020 NBA Draft for one purpose only: to be the sniper from behind the arc that he’s worked incredibly hard to be. And in Game 7 of the Eastern Semifinals, Pritchard delivered and was able to do what he does best: SHOOT
“THIS IS WHAT I DO.”
The Celtics had many of their guys step up throughout Game 7 to help close out the Bucks in the second-round, winning 109-81 at the TD Garden.
Pritchard entered Game 7 doing what he does best- confidently shooting 3’s at a high clip and with range. The second-year sniper logged 14 points in 17 minutes off the bench, propelling the Celtics advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Before the start of the regular season, first-year head coach Ime Udoka once said that Pritchard is the best shooter on the team. And although it took a bit for him to get started, Pritchard delivers and always comes through.
Pritchard proved when the season is on the line in a Game 7 situation, he can get the job as he told his team after connecting on consecutive 3’s: “THIS IS WHAT I DO.”
