The Boston Celtics drafted Juhann Begarin in 2021 out of Paris and have essentially “stashed” him away ever since with the hopes of bringing him on maybe next year as he continues to improve his already impressive skills.
Begarin made his season debut for Paris and had himself a day to remember. He scored 28 points on 62 percent shooting from the field, 50 percent from behind the arc, and a perfect 100 percent from the free throw line (6-6).
He joined the Celtics for the second summer since being drafted and played quite well, averaging 18.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game this past summer.
Here’s what Begarin’s current coach, Will Weaver, said about him after their game today.
“We all witnessed it today, Juhann Begarin is an NBA player. He can make an impact in Boston.”
The Celtics own Begarin’s draft rights and should look to add him to their roster next season. He’s a 6’5” wing that will be 21-years-old at the start of next season.
