Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics: 60 dunks in November helps raise money for Sun Life diabetes prevention

Every November, the Boston Celtics team up with Sun Life to raise money and awareness in support of diabetes prevention.

The partnership was created in 2014 with the proceeds going to the YMCA of Greater Boston’s diabetes education programs.

The way it works is for every dunk the Celtics make in the month of November, Sun Life will donate $1,000 to the YMCA of Greater Boston’s Healthy Habits Program.

The Celtics collectively finished the month with 60 dunks, totaling $60,000. However, considering all of the 6,898 Twitter votes, the Celtics and Sun Life raised $155,000 for the YMCA of Greater Boston.

This partnership campaign between the Celtics and Sun Life is truly special and hopefully it’s something that’ll continue on for years to come, as we’re nearing the 10th year anniversary of the program.
