The Boston Celtics will play the Orlando Magic this afternoon without MVP front-runner Jayson Tatum as heโs simply just taking the day off for โpersonal reasonsโ, per Bostonโs injury report.
Tatum has played in 29 of 30 games, averaging 30.2 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor this season, as he leads the Celtics to one of the best offenses in league history.
Since 2017, Tatum has played 2,039 minutes more than anyone on the Celtics, averaging 33.6 minutes per game for his career. Needless to say, itโs a very rare occurrence for Tatum not to be available in any way for his team.
Celtics play-by-play broadcaster Sean Grande has always been consistent with crunching the numbers to show trends following the Celtics, both positive or negative, that is.
Here, Grande configured who has played the most minutes for the Celtics since 2017 when Tatum was drafted.
