The Boston Celtics removed the interim label off of Joe Mazzulla’s title and promoted him to head coach, the 19th in franchise history on Friday afternoon.
Mazzulla has led the Celtics to the best record in the NBA (42-17) and is coaching the Eastern All-Star team tonight along with his coaching staff.
During the All-Star festivities, Mazzulla was asked about how what it meant to him for the Celtics to promote him to head coach and this is what he had to say.
Mazzulla earned a contract extension along with being named head coach, which was well earned and deserved for Mazzulla.
