Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla is a huge advocate of his team shooting as many 3-Pointers as possible in any game. As a result, we’ve seen the Celtics shoot over 50 3-pointers in multiple games this season.
When he was asked about it, Boston’s first-year head coach turned the question around and in turn, questioned the question.
“I always had a question about, like, when we shoot a lot of 3s and miss, everybody asks me questions. But when we shoot a lot of layups and miss nobody says anything. … Just because you’re closer to the basket doesn’t mean it’s easier to score.”
The Celtics are shooting 42.2 3-Pointers per game, which ranks second in the league only behind the Golden State Warriors, and are connecting at a 37.7 percent clip, which is tied for sixth in the league with the Los Angeles Clippers.
