Derrick White is the key to Boston’s lineups

Boston Celtics do-it-all standout guard Derrick White has exceeded expectations this season and it’s largely due to him just being more comfortable with this group after being traded at the deadline last year.

White is a perfect fit for Boston. As a result, he is the key to most lineups involving the core group for the Celtics.

In lineups featuring White with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Al Horford, the Celtics are a plus-minus +185 in 47 games.

The second-best lineup in terms of plus-minus for the Celtics is Marcus Smart, White, Brown, and Horford, at +139 in 44 games.

The third-best lineup in terms of plus-minus is White, Smart, Tatum, and Horford, at +111 in 43 games.

The common denominator to all of Boston’s best lineups is White. the numbers don’t lie.
