Marcus Smart is often referred to as the heart and soul of the Celtics. While helping Boston advance to five Eastern Conference Finals in his nine-year career with the Celtics.

As the longest tenured player on the Celtics, there’s nothing more that Smart wants than to raise Banner 18 for the Celtics.

“It definitely is. There not many teams in this league that on a yearly basis can say we’re fighting for a true contender spot to win the championship. Pursuing 18 that’s always something here and that’s always the main goal.”

The Celtics will have an opportunity to raise Banner 18 this year, but they’ll have to get to the Finals through the Heat.
