Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

TD Garden Bull Gang has a busy week ahead of them

With the Boston Celtics and Bruins advancing to the second round of their playoff series, the TD Garden “Bull Gang” has a busy week ahead of them.

To convert the arena from a hockey rink to a basketball court, is a strategic time consuming process that this crew has mastered over the last decade.

A simplified explanation of this is that the ice is made at the beginning of the hockey season, it’s painted white and with the lines and then maintained throughout the season.

When there’s a basketball game, the ice is then covered before laying the court down on top of it. According to the Celtics vault, it takes about two-and-a-half hours to complete the process.

With both the Celtics and Bruins starting their second round series, the TD Garden will start as a basketball court for Tuesday and Thursday before turning into a hockey rink for Friday and Sunday.

So the gang will likely make the switch to ice Thursday night after the Celtics game to have it ready for the Bruins game on Friday.

This is a dream come true for Boston sports fans. For the next eight days, the Celtics and Bruins will be playing every other night.

It doesn’t get much better than that.

Here’s a look at the Bull Gang switching the arena over from ice to court in a time lapse video from the Celtics vault.
