Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Celtics star weighs in on WNBA Rookie of the Year

Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown has had quite an eventful summer while being all over the headlines since winning a championship and earning MVP.

Brown expressed his frustrations with Team USA, Nike, and Grant Hill. He also was spotted sitting courtside at a Celtics Summer League game talking about Bronny James and how he doesn’t think he’s NBA ready yet.

The Finals MVP also launched the Boston X Change, which is him keeping his word from one year ago when he signed his supermax contract extension, making it the largest deal in NBA history at the time. Brown is trying to bring Black Wall Street to Boston and to create billions of dollars in Black wealth.

Brown was recently on the Boardroom Talks Podcast with Vinciane Ngomsi talking about the WNBA and he weighed in on the Rookie of the Year conversation, saying his vote is for Angel Reese due to her consistent double-doubles.

“Angel Reese got my vote. I just think, you know, consistency, and just double-double after double-double. That’s impressive, you know. There’s a lot of good players, a lot of good guys out there that are doing their thing. Shoutout to the WNBA, I’m a fan, but I’ll come up with some names when they start picking back up after the Olympics.”

The WNBA rookie class has been phenomenal this season with both Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese leading the way for their group. Reese is averaging 13.5 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game while making a WNBA record 15 consecutive double-doubles.

On the other hand, Clark is averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and leads the league with 8.2 assists per game and has 40/33/89 shooting splits.

The competition between Reese and Clark is similar to Magic Johnson and Larry Bird with their rivalry beginning in college and transferring into the pros.

In other news, Reese announced that she’ll be joining The Unrivaled 3×3 basketball league founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.
