Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum finished sixth in MVP voting

As the Boston Celtics are preparing for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal, the NBA’s MVP voting totals were announced.

We already knew Nikola Jokic was named the MVP for the second consecutive year. However, we didn’t know the rankings of the other finalists until this afternoon.

Jayson Tatum finished sixth in the MVP voting, just behind Luka Doncic, Devin Booker, Giannis, and Joel Embiid.

Tatum finished the season averaging 26.9 points, 8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game with shooting splits of .453/.353/.853 in 76 games.

He led the Celtics to one of the best mid-season turnarounds in NBA history and was one of the best players in the NBA by doing so.

There’s no doubt that Tatum’s had a First-Team All-NBA caliber season this year and will one day be the league MVP sometime in the extremely near future.
