The Boston Celtics have let two games in this series slip through their hands as they looked in the face of potentially having this series over and done with by now.
Due to a series of unfortunate events, the C’s now need to win two consecutive games in order to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals- one on the road and one at home.
The Celtics have played like the better team more often than not in this series. However, they’ve also shot themselves in the foot at the worst moments, costing them the game.
This Game 6 would look completely different had the Celtics not had a couple of mental lapses in the final few minutes of Game 5. The defense was a bit diminished at the end of the second half, allowing the Bucks to comeback to eventually steal the win away from you.
Both teams have played elite level defense in this series. Not to mention the Celtics being the top defense in the league for the entire second half of the season. That said, Boston gave up 63 points in the second half of Game 5.
For the Celtics to be successful in this game, they need every single player to contribute and produce.
Grant Williams cannot go scoreless AT ALL but especially when he plays 31 minutes. That really hurt the team when they ended up losing by 3 and Grant is one of the best 3-point shooters in the league this year (by the numbers).
In all, even though Game 6 is in Milwaukee, I can’t help but think the Celtics still have the upper hand in the series, despite playing in Milwaukee tonight in a do or die situation.
Game 6 is tonight in Milwaukee at the Fiserv Forum tipping off at 7:30pm.
