The Boston Celtics could quite easily make a trade for Cameron Johnson, a young wing with size and scoring capabilities as he’s still growing into the NBA.
Johnson is only on the books for $5,887,889, which fits into one of the smaller TPE’s the Celtics have in their arsenal.
Johnson averaged 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game last season. He impressively shot 46.6 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from deep.
This level of production coming off the bench can be invaluable. Consistent scoring and also playing defense on the other end is what the Celtics need the most on their bench.
Acquiring Johnson wouldn’t take away from the other assets Boston has and probably wouldn’t cost too much in the exchange.
Johnson is definitely a player the Celtics should be calling Phoenix about as he enters his fourth year at 26 years-old.
