Opening Up The Files On The Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics: Bruno Caboclo has legitimate chance to make roster

The Boston Celtics signed former 2014 first round draft pick Bruno Caboclo to a training camp deal at the beginning of August, allowing him to compete for one of Boston’s three open roster spots.

Unfortunately it’s hard to put a gauge on where he is at this point in his career. However before joining the Celtics, Caboclo had an impressive Summer League with the Utah Jazz where he averaged 12 points and 6.4 rebounds in five games.

He’s bounced in between the NBA and international play since being drafted, playing in only 104 games throughout his career with the Raptors, Grizzlies, Kings, and Rockets.

The Celtics are intrigued by his body structure and what he brings to the table at 6’9” tall with a 7’7” wingspan. He maneuvers himself well around the court for a big man and can make a big impact on both ends of the court.

Caboclo is looking to reintroduce himself to the NBA and he has a great chance of doing so with the Celtics, as they don’t need him to be a superstar or do anything spectacularly. They just need him to be able to provide depth for the roster and produce when his number is called.
