The Boston Celtics could be in the hunt to acquire Justin Jackson for the 2022-23 season.
With three open roster spots and a lingering love affair dating back to last year, there’s a solid chance the Celtics make an offer to Jackson before the end of the summer.
Jackson signed a 10-Day contract with the Celtics last season but only played one game due to the COVID-19 commotion. He then joined the team for 2022-23 Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 15 points and 3.8 rebounds in four games.
The former first round pick, Jackson, still has a lot left in the tank to offer any team. He’s extremely serviceable (42.6 percent from the field for his career), understands his role and what he brings to the table.
Ideally, the Celtics would like to start managing the minutes of their veteran group, which will open the door for more opportunities for the players on the bench.
And for a player like Jackson, that’s all he needs to take advantage of a situation.
The Boston Celtics intend to fill their roster with an open competition for the available three spots left on the 15-Man with Brodric Thomas, Noah Vonleh, Bruno Caboclo along with Jackson.
